WE ARE GIVING UP
BY SWITCHING OFF

WHAT ARE YOU GIVING UP?

When people with intent and commitment come together they can change the world. Let us be this change. Let us give up on small things that can create a big impact. Start with switching off for the environment this Earth Hour.

24 MARCH | 8.30 PM - 9.30 PM

GIVE UP TO GIVE BACK

Our current lifestyles are not sustainable for us as well as the planet we call home. Every year, on Earth Hour, people across the world switch off non-essential lights for an hour to take a stand for the environment. This year, Earth Hour is the launch of the GIVE UP movement. It’s time to give up wasteful behaviour and consumption without thought.
GIVING UP is about our power to change the world.

STORIES OF CHANGE

Mr. Krishnaswamy

5.6 million of us are giving up plastic woggles (scarf rings) – a significant part of our uniform, our identity – and replacing them with planet friendly and biodegradable cloth alternatives. We are doing this for a better, safer and plastic-free world for all of us and future generations.

Rohan Chakravarty

This Earth Hour, I have given up new clothes and garments for a year so that I can give back to the planet that gives us life. More clothes mean more packaging, more waste and more unnecessary consumption.

Mana Majboor

As part of the GIVE UP TO GIVE BACK
movement, I have decided to give up all leather
products – bags, shoes, belts and accessories. Leather production is unsustainable and can be easily be replaced with planet friendly options.

To GIVE BACK to the planet, I am GIVING UP all plastic bags. I pledge to carry my own cloth bag at all times so that I never have to use a plastic bag again.
